The Alabama State Fair cattle barn was a 200-foot by 220-foot covered barn erected at Fair Park in 1949 for the display of beef and dairy cattle during the Alabama State Fair. The cost of constructing the $100,000 barn was loaned to the Alabama State Fair Authority by the Birmingham City Commission.
The dedication took place on October 3, 1949, coinciding with the opening of the 1949 Alabama State Fair. Commissioner Jimmie Morgan joined Miss Alabama Freida Roser on stage for the ribbon-cutting ceremony. The building was dedicated to the youth of the state.
