The Alamo Theatre was a former "tabloid theater" and nickelodeon cinema located at 2012 3rd Avenue North in 1908 and later at 1828 3rd Avenue North.

The Alamo was one of several so-called tabloid theaters operating in Birmingham between 1910 to 1921. According to a newspaper supplement published on Birmingham's centennial, "a typical tabloid show was made up of six to eight chorus girls, wearing tights or opera-length hose, two comedians and a leading lady and man," plus a piano player. The stage shows were usually paired with silent films.

The Amuse-U, the Marvel Theater, the Airdome Theater. and the Best Theater were all considered tabloid theaters.
