It is possible that this group uses the term, but I doubt it and it isn't in the source cited, so I removed it. Similarly a langar / vegetarian meal is central to Sikhism.)

The BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir is a temple or "mandir" for Hindu worship, education and service, serving members of the Bochasanwasi Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha (BAPS) global organization.

The local organization was established in 1980 and currently meets at 500 Biscayne Drive in Roebuck. The group hosted a visit by BAPS president Pramukh Swami Maharaj (1921–2016) in September 2000.

The temple averages about 250 to 300 attendees for Sunday services. The mandir also provides classes in the Gujarati language and culture, and philosophical topics.

In 2020 applied to the Hoover Planning and Zoning Commission for a proposed adaptive reuse of the former Lorna Ridge 10 cinema on Lorna Ridge Drive.
