The Birmingham Airport Authority is an independent authority created by the City of Birmingham in 1986 to manage and operate the Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport. The President and CEO of the authority is Al Denson. The authority is governed by an eight-member board, currently chaired by Gaynell Hendricks.
