The Birmingham Business Journal is a weekly newspaper highlighting business news in the Birmingham area. The paper was launched by a group of local businessmen in 1984. It was sold in 1999 to American City Business Journals.
The paper's local offices are located at 2140 11th Avenue South. Joel Welker, former advertising director for the Atlanta Business Chronicle is the paper's publisher. He took over for Melanie Dickinson in June 2008. In addition to the weekly print edition, the paper publishes daily news items online.
