The Birmingham Children's Theatre (BCT) is a theater company which produces several shows for young audiences each year. Founded in 1947, it is one of the oldest and largest such groups in the United States. The group is based at the Birmingham Jefferson Convention Center and uses the 9,000-seat BJCC Theatre as well as two smaller performance spaces. The company also tours the state with several productions each season.
The executive director is George Culver, who was hired in 2008 to take over after the resignation of Edie Barnes.
