Brookwood Baptist Medical Center, founded in 1973 as Brookwood Hospital, is a 595-bed full-service acute care hospital located at 2010 Brookwood Medical Center Drive, off of U.S. Highway 31 (Independence Drive) on the north slope of Shades Mountain above the Brookwood Village shopping center in Homewood. The hospital's CEO is Jeremy Clark.

Brookwood Health Services merged with American Medical International in 1981. National Medical Enterprises acquired AMI in 1995 and changed its name to Tenet Healthcare. Tenet acquired Baptist Health System in October 2015 to form Brookwood Baptist Health.
