Buck Brock

Harry Blackwell "Buck" Brock III (born c. 1955, died November 3, 2023) was a former bank executive and the executive vice president and vice president for business affairs at Samford University.

Brock graduated from the University of Alabama with a bachelor of science in 1977. He interned at Central Bank and rose to president of Central Bank in Huntsville and later in Birmingham. He left banking in 1994 to become president of the Express Oil Development Company. He joined the board of trustees at Samford in 1998 and succeeded Joseph Mathews, Jr as vice president for business affairs in 2007. He was named executive vice president of the university in 2015. He retired from Samford in [[2022].

Brock and his wife Nancy have two children. They attend Mountain Brook Baptist Church. Their home on Sterling Road in Redmont Park was renovated in 2009 by the Williams Partnership architects and featured in Birmingham magazine.
