George "Butch" Boackle (born c. 1949) is the longest-serving member of the Birmingham Police Department.

Boackle joined the department on November 13, 1972. He spent 10 years as a patrol officer before being assigned to the K-9 drug detection unit in 1982. During his tenure he has served under nine police chiefs and seven mayors.

Boackle and his wife, Vicky, a former officer who was shot in the line of duty, have one son, Heath, who is a sergeant for the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office.
