Clay Smith (born 1925) is a retired insurance executive and a book collector, with a nearly-complete collection of all the top-10 best sellers from 1895 to the present.

Currently he manages the Friends of the Library bookstores at the Homewood Public Library and Vestavia Hills Public Library. In 2006, Smith was given the Humanitarian Award by the Alabama Library Association for his help in raising funds through sales of donated books.
