Datalus was a tech start-up founded in 2021 by Mikhail Kozorovitskiy to develop online tools which would allow individuals to opt in to having their personal usage data collected and anonymized, while also receiving 50% of the monetary proceeds Datalus earned from selling it to businesses for marketing research.
The company released a "minimum viable product" version of a standalone browser, and a basic version of its plug-in for Google Chrome in 2022. In December of that year, Kozorovitskiy announced that the company had exhausted its capital and would shut down immediately.
