Eugene Brown Erwin was an educator, principal of Jefferson County High School and superintendent of Jefferson County Schools.
Erwin was on the faculty of the Athens Female Academy in Limestone County. He and his wife came to Jefferson County to head a school constructed by his brother, Felix in Boyles, originally known as Barton School.
Erwin High School (now Erwin Middle School) in Center Point is named in his honor.
