Gables at Glen Iris
The Gables at Glen Iris is a proposed $15 million condominium development in the Glen Iris neighborhood of Birmingham. The project, proposed by the Cityscape Group, headed by Adam Cohen, is to include 52 condominium units in a 4-story building on a site at the corner of 10th Avenue South and 10th Place South. Parking will be in a secured enclosed deck in the lower level of the building which will have two access-controlled entrances.
The proposal, which has been received favorably by the Glen Iris neighborhood association, will require approval from the city. The design architect is Rob Walker Architects. The 800 2,500 square foot condominiums will be marketed by Ingram & Associates in the $170,000 to $500,000 price range. Financing has been provided by Superior Bank.
The target market is professors and "empty nesters" rather than students.
