The Garrett Building was constructed in the 1880s at 2008 2nd Avenue North.
The Singer Sewing Machine Company purchased the left half of the building in the 1920s and replaced it with their Singer Building. The right half of the building was demolished for a branch of the Guaranty Savings and Loan in 1971.
