George Arthur Atkins (born April 10, 1932 in Birmingham; died January 21, 2015 in Birmingham) was a professional football player for the 1955 Detroit Lions. Atkins was a graduate of Shades Valley High School and was drafted by the Lions out of Auburn University.

Atkins was married to historian and water skiing champion Leah Rawls Atkins.
