Herschell Hamilton, Jr is the president of Formation Methods, a real-estate firm, developer and construction company. He is also a member of the Birmingham Water Works Board.

Hamilton is the son of Herschell Hamilton Sr, personal physician to Fred Shuttlesworth in the 1950s and 60s and a financial supporter of the Civil Rights Movement.
