Jimbo Wood is a radio personality from Birmingham who has been on and off the local airways since he began his career in 1979 at WERC. He was on-air at WKXX (Kicks 106) until he moved to a station in New Orleans in 1983. In 1984 he was back in Birmingham at WAPI (I-95). He moved on to stations in Montgomery, Memphis, and San Jose, California, but was back in Bimirmingham on I-95 by the early 1990s. In 1993, Wood dropped out of the radio business, moved to the Bahamas and taught SCUBA-diving lessons while living on a boat. By 2000, we was back in Alabama as the program director for WRTT in Huntsville. In February 2007, Wood was back on air in Birmingham as the afternoon DJ and program director for WENN, 105.5 The Vulcan.
