Anthony got his first job in radio at [[WLPH-AM]] while a junior at [[Woodlawn High School]] in [[1972]]. After graduating he began working at WDAL in Meridian, Mississippi before moving back to [[Birmingham]] and the popular WSGN under the tutelage of [[Amaysa Kincaid]] a year later. He also worked at WOKY in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, WMPS in Memphis, Tennessee, WWKX in Nashville, Tennessee, WAVA in Washington DC, WZOU in Boston, Massachusetts, and in Tampa, Florida where he settled in [[1985]]. He maintained popularity at several stations and became production director for two Clear Channel stations there in [[2000]]. After leaving broadcasting in [[2003]], Anthony continued to work doing voiceovers and audio production.

Jon Anthony

Jon "Rock N' Roll" Anthony (born 1955 in Birmingham; died December 28, 2012 in Brandon, Florida) was a radio deejay at WSGN-AM in 197475 and 1980.

Anthony got his first job in radio at WLPH-AM while a junior at Woodlawn High School in 1972. After graduating he began working at WDAL in Meridian, Mississippi before moving back to Birmingham and the popular WSGN under the tutelage of Amaysa Kincaid a year later. He also worked at WOKY in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, WMPS in Memphis, Tennessee, WWKX in Nashville, Tennessee, WAVA in Washington DC, WZOU in Boston, Massachusetts, and in Tampa, Florida where he settled in 1985. He maintained popularity at several stations and became production director for two Clear Channel stations there in 2000. After leaving broadcasting in 2003, Anthony continued to work doing voiceovers and audio production.

Anthony died of cancer in December 2012. He was survived by his wife, Belinda and son, Ryan.
