Joseph Stein (born c. 1925) was an businessman specializing in metal recycling.

Stein was the child of grocers. In 1946, at 21 years old, Stein founded Birmingham Iron & Metal, a metal recycling business specializing in steel products. He was drafted for the Korean War in 1951. While he was serving, his parents oversaw the business. After his return, he was joined in the business by his younger brother, Gaston, in 1958.

In 1964, the two started a new recycling business, H. S. Metals. The brothers parted ways as businessmen in 1980.
