L. Scott Coogler (born 1959 in Nantucket, Massachusetts) is a Judge for the United States District Court for the Northern District of Alabama, with his courtroom in Tuscaloosa.

Coogler earned his bachelor of arts at the University of Alabama in 1981 and finished his juris doctorate at the University of Alabama School of Law in 1984, and clerked for Circuit Court Judge Paul Conger. After passing the state bar he entered private practice and was appointed to the 6th Judicial Circuit in 1996.

Coogler served in the Army National Guard from 1988 to 1991. In 2000 he joined the faculty of the University of Alabama School of Law, leaving in 2003 when he was nominated to the District Court seat vacated by H. Dean Buttram, Jr. He received his commission on May 28 of that year. Coogler's court will be the primary tenant for a new Tuscaloosa federal building set for completion in 2011.
