Lawrence Dunbar Minter (born April 2, 1893 in Selma, Dallas County; died November 29, 1959 in Birmingham) was a long-time caretaker at Elmwood Cemetery.

Minter served as a mechanic with the 366th Infantry in World War I in France. After his discharge he was unable to find skilled work and took a job at Elmwood, where he remained for 30 years. He and his wife, the former Rosie McAlpin, raised 8 children, including artist Joe Minter.
