Service Merchandise was located adjacent to Loehmann's Village and opened at the same time as the rest of the Village. After it closed in the 1990's, the building was demolished and a new building was constructed where Best Buy is currently located.

Loehmann's Village was an outdoor mall-type shopping center located at Montgomery Highway and Lorna Road in Riverchase. Designed by Giattina Fisher Aycock and anchored by Loehmann's department store, it opened on September 24, 1979.

The shopping center was renovated as an outward-facing lifestyle center, called Riverchase Village Shopping Center, in the 1990s.
