Advertisment for the Lotus Restaurant

The Lotus Restaurant, or Lotus: Restaurant of Distinction, was a restaurant and nightclub operating "Over the Mountain" in Homewood, at 2717 18th Street South in the 1940s.

The restaurant was newly managed in January 1948 by Wadell Zanaty and Jo Jo Brocato. In May of that year, when it hosted a small celebration to mark the establishment of the state of Israel, the owners were Abe Berkowitz and Mansoud Zanaty.

The establishment offered "drinks of all kinds," entertainment from Buddy Harris' Orchestra, and take-home dinners.
