Loveable Skates was a roller-skate rental shop located near Highland Avenue in the early 1980s. Owned by Jay Craig, Sherie Beard and another partner, the shop suffered when the Birmingham Police Department started issuing $5 tickets to people caught roller skating on the street in the Spring of 1981.

Local roller skating enthusiasts planned protests and petitions against the crack-down.
