Loxcil Tuck

Loxcil Tuck (born c. 1933 in Morgan County) is a former banker and Mayor of Tarrant, first elected in 2004 and re-elected in 2008.

Tuck, who worked in banks from 1956 to 1996, mostly with Compass Bank and its predecessors. She served three terms on the Tarrant City Council, from 1980 to 1992 and was Mayor Pro Tem from 1989 to 1992. She also served for six years on the Tarrant Board of Education, one of which as president. Prior to being elected Mayor she founded the Tarrant Beautification Board and served two terms on the Jefferson County Beautification Board. In 2008 she was chosen vice-president of the Jefferson County Mayors Association and became president one year later.

Tuck grew up in Cullman as the 11th of 14 children. She was named after a young neighbor at the suggestion of her oldest sister. She and her husband Gerald and two children, Suzy and Jeff, and four grandchildren. They are members of Central Baptist Church where she serves as secretary.
