Manoir Minette is a 7,000 square-foot 5-bedroom, 5 1/2-bath French manor-style residence on a 6.1-acre site at 4132 Old Leeds Road in Mountain Brook. It was built in 1961 for Margaret Bush and designed by Henry Sprott Long.
Mrs Bush entertained many celebrity visitors at the house. At her death in 1971 she bequeathed the residence to Samford University for use as the president's home. Leslie Wright occupied the home with his wife, Lolla for several years before his retirement in 1983. Samford elected to sell the property in 1984, and it was purchased by Mr and Mrs Harold Bissell.
The Bissells sold the home to Tommy and Margaret Tucker, who later sold it to Hubert and Michelle Green. The Greens listed the house for sale at $2.6 million.
The home was used for the 1985 and 2009 Decorators ShowHouse events benefiting the Alabama Symphony Orchestra.
