The National Center for Fire and Life Safety (originally the Alabama Firefighters Museum & Educational Center Foundation) is a Pelham-based public advocacy non-profit which promotes public education for fire prevention and life safety. It was founded in 2012 by Ray Hamilton, Joseph King and Mitt Schroder. Russell Jackson is the CEO and Allan Rice is chairman of the board of directors. Its registered address is 1123 County Services Drive off of Oak Mountain Trail, which it shared with the Shelby County Department of Development Services. It currently uses donated office space at the Central State Bank building at 57 Shelby County Highway 87 in Calera.

The organization originally planned to develop a "Alabama Firefighters Museum & Education Center". That goal has since been expanded into a campaign to raise $100 million for a planned HEROES Experience visitor attraction. The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) has signed on as named sponsor for the project and the City of Pelham has agreed to donate land and provide other incentives.
