Oak Mountain is a long ridge south of Birmingham and the setting for Oak Mountain State Park. This area also includes a large residential portion of Northern Shelby County including the schools Oak Mountain Elementary School, Oak Mountain Intermediate School, Oak Mountain Middle School, and Oak Mountain High School.
