Paul Hamilton Earle (born January 22, 1839; died November 26, 1900 in Maryland) served on the Jefferson County Commission and the Birmingham Board of Aldermen in the 1880s, and was president of the Birmingham Trust and Savings Company from 1890 until his death.
Earle was one of ten children born to Samuel Sidney Earle and the former Harriet Hampton Wright.
Earle married the former Mary Gaines Greene in 1869 and they resided in the family's Earle-Greene plantation in Elyton. They had three children, Samuel Lowndes, Katherine, and Paul II.
Earle donated part of his landholdings to the trustees of North Alabama Conference College (now Birmingham-Southern College), and sold another section, which was developed by the Jemison Real Estate Co. as "Earle Place", in Graymont.
Earle sat on the County Commission from 1880 to 1884, and represented Birmingham's 4th Ward under Mayor A. O. Lane from 1882 to 1886. He was serving as vice-president of the Birmingham Trust and Savings Company when president William Graves resigned for health reasons after only six months in office. He was promoted to president and remained in that office until his death in 1900.
Earle's funeral services were held at First United Methodist Church, and he was buried at Oak Hill Cemetery.
