Salem's Diner is a weekday breakfast and lunch diner located in the former Dino's Hot Dogs space at 2913 18th Street South in Homewood. Wayne Salem, son of Alabama football star and drive-in owner Ed Salem opened it in 1978 in Southside and moved to Homewood in 2006.

The diner features hot dogs, hamburgers, cheesesteaks and grilled tilapia sandwiches.

Craig Ferguson, host of CBS' "The Late Late Show" visited Salem's in March 2007 and proclaimed the cheesesteaks to be the best he'd ever had, including Philadelphia. A Philadelphia Daily News reporter made the trip a month later to follow up on the story.
