The Shelby County Reporter is a weekly newspaper, published on Wednesday mornings, covering the news in Shelby County. The paper's offices are located at 115 North Main Street in Columbiana. Free copies are distributed from numerous locations around the County.

Wayne Rasco was a long-time publisher of the paper, having started out as a typesetter and sales representative. From 1990 to 2001 Kim Price served as president, editor and publisher.

As of 2009, Tim Prince is publisher and Jan Griffey is the managing editor. Other editors include Chris Megginson, Austin Phillips, Samantha Hurst and Fred Guarino. Reporters include Amy Jones, and Cassandra Mickens. Corey Nolen is staff photographer.

The Reporter publishes community-specific free editions in Alabaster and Pelham.
