Sloss Real Estate Company is a modern day descendant of the large industrial and land holding Sloss Iron & Steel Company. The current president is Catherine Sloss Crenshaw, the great-great granddaughter of Colonel James Withers Sloss the founder of Sloss Furnace Company. Over the years the Colonel's industrial company became a large land-holder in the state which gave rise to a separate real estate company.
