Suzanne Freeman is the superintendent of Trussville City Schools, having accepted the job of creating the system when it became independent in 2005.
In 2009 Freeman was named a finalist for the American Association of School Administrators' National Superintendent of the Year. Freeman resigned her position in 2012. In 2014 she was named the superintendent of the newly-formed school district in Pike Road, which broke away from the Montgomery School District in 2013.
