First Commercial Bank is a Birmingham-based financial services company affiliated with the Columbus, Georgia-based Synovus holding company.

First Commercial was founded in Birmingham in 1985 by businessmen Richard E. Anthony and John T. Oliver, Jr with a base capitalization of $11.5 million. Its first offices were in the Title Building at 2024 3rd Avenue North.

Currently the bank operates 14 area offices, employing 240 people and managing assets of nearly $2 billion, representing approximately 6% of the Birmingham banking market. Their corporate headquarters is located in the First Commercial Bank Building at 800 Shades Creek Parkway. The CEO is Nelson Bean.
