1975
- An article in the November 1975 Jet magazine covers a day of honors for Gaston at the BJCC which included a luncheon attended by Muhammad Ali, a message from President Ford and proclamations from the State of Alabama, Jefferson County and Birmingham. Mayor Seibels is pictured holding up a portrait of Mr & Mrs Gaston which will be the first to hang in the city's "Hall of Distinguished Citizens". I guess it just took two years to find a place for it? --Dystopos 20:08, 12 December 2008 (PST)
