Which source had the information about the Elyton newspapers? It contradicts some of what we have in Timeline of Newspapers in Birmingham, so I want to sort it out in the discussion there. Thanks. --Lkseitz 11:47, 14 April 2014 (PDT)

Different historical information
This 1937-04-08 article in the Birmingham Age-Herald gives a slightly different account of Elyton and additional info: says it was founded in 1812 when Mr. Ely arrived, was only incorporated as a city from 1907-1010, mentions the first schoolhouse, first courthouse and judge, different date for the first church, lists the first white children born (both before and after it was called Elyton), etc. Earthsound (talk) 15:21, 27 April 2016 (PDT)
