* At some point I made a conscious decision to remove race labels wherever I could, in hope that Andrew Beard could be worthy of note as an inventor rather than as a black inventor in the same way that Nancy Crews can be known as an aviator rather than as a lady pilot. - At some point I made a conscious decision to remove race labels wherever I could, in hope that Andrew Beard could be worthy of note as an inventor rather than as a black inventor in the same way that Nancy Crews can be known as an aviator rather than as a lady pilot.
