"The Great Blue Herons" is a bronze sculpture depicting two great blue herons which was commissioned from Saratoga, New York sculptor Pam Foss by developer Jim Wilson Jr for the lobby of the Wynfrey Hotel as it is entered from the second floor of the Riverchase Galleria.

Foss was invited to select the subject and composition of the sculpture. She chose herons based on the association of water birds with the word "Riverchase". She made the full-size clay model for the sculpture, which was reproduced in wax by Joel Meisner & Company of Plainview, New York. Foss then added detail to the wax model before Meisner cast the final work in bronze. A multi-hued patina was added afterward.

The sculpture was dedicated in 1986.
