Tony Petelos (born c. 1953) is the mayor of Hoover. He was elected to the office in September 2004, and ran unopposed in 2008. A Republican, he previously served as the state's Commissioner of the Department of Human Resources, appointed by Governor Fob James in 1997. He now sits on the DHR state board, having been appointed by Governor Bob Riley.

During the 2004 election, Petelos challenged one-term mayor Betty McCollum, who came in third behind Petelos and Councilman Jody Patterson. Petelos defeated Patterson by a landslide in the mayoral run-off.

Petelos previously served in the Alabama House of Representatives from 1986 to 1997.

During the 2008 election, Petelos reportedly collected $37,900 for his re-election campaign, though he ran unopposed. It was by far the most money reported by municipal candidates.

He is married to the former Teresa Bearden, a circuit judge in neighboring Bessemer. They met while both were students at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
