UAB Studio Arts houses studios for members of the faculty of UAB's Department of Art and Art History. It is located in the 19,000 square foot former Liberty Motors Building on the northeast corner of 23rd Street and 7th Avenue South.

The building was purchased in December 2011 by Shannon Waltchack and renovated at a cost of about $700,000 for lease by UAB, which had to relocate several studio spaces for construction of Regions Field, in 2012.
