Village Violins is a retailer and rental business for stringed instruments. It was opened in 2009 by Mara McClain in Forest Park. Her husband, Avi Friedlander, founded the Suzuki Talent Education Program, teaching violin by the Suzuki method.

The growing business moved to 1101 18th Street South in 2014. When Friedlander accepted the directorship of the Barston Suzuki Center at the Music Institute of Chicago, business partner Troy Bast took over management of the store and teaching program. The businesses moved to 3201 Lorna Road in Hoover in January 2019.
