WTNB-AM was a radio station broadcasting Mutual Broadcasting System programming at AM 1490. The station was founded by Thomas N. Beach and owned by the Pilot Broadcasting Company, in which he held a 51% interest.

In January 1952 Pilot was sold to George Mattison of the Woodstock Slag Corporation. Mattison built a new studio and increased the station's power to 5,000 watts in the daytime and 1,000 watts at night. He increased coverage of local sporting events while maintaining the station's MBS affiliation.

The station, still owned by Mattison, moved to AM 850 and switched call letters to WILD-AM.
