Biography

Wallce Campbell grew up in Mount Olive and joined the Gardendale Police Department on January 24, 1970 as a patrolman. He availed himself of all the educational opportunities he could, including attending the FBI Academy, and worked his way up to Police Chief.

On Monday, June 18, 2007, Campbell gave a letter to Mayor Kenny Clemons announcing his retirement effective July 1. He had cleaned out his desk that Saturday and told the mayor he wouldn't be back, using accumulated leave to finish his term. Campbell requested that there be no retirement ceremony. At the time of his retirement, he lived in Cullman County.
