Walter Hill (1915 - June 9, 2006) was a former deacon and retired maintenance worker at Sardis Missionary Baptist Church. Hill was a veteran of World War II. He retired in 1999, but still spent his days at church, dining with the staff.

On June 9, 2006 Hill was found dead in his home in Enon Ridge by firefighters. He had been shot, his possessions ransacked, and a fire set. Two men were seen leaving in Hill's pickup truck, which was later abandoned at I-59 near the Center Street Bridge.
