Walter Moore (1957 - 2005) was a teacher and assistant principal at Hayes High School. He joined Birmingham City Schools in 1979 as a special education teacher and was named a temporary assistant principal in 2004.

On May 22, 2005 he was reported missing. His car, a 2000 Nissan Maxima, was found three days later on Avenue E in Ensley. His remains were found in a wooded area of Wylam in May 2006. Nothing else is known about the circumstances of his death.
