Weddin' Day is a stage musical written by Hugh Martin and Ralph Blane, based on Carson McCullers' 1946 novel The Member of the Wedding. Martin had written McCullers in the mid-1960s to ask for permission to adapt the book. McCullers was reportedly, "excited about the idea," and asked for a draft of the play, which Martin forwarded. After reading it, however, she, "flew into a rage and refused to give up the rights."

Despite the setback, Martin and Blane worked with James Hatcher at UAB's Town & Gown Theater to stage their unauthorized musical adaptation in 1987. The play ran from May 11-23 at the Clark Memorial Theater (now the Virginia Samford Theatre).
