The 1892 Auburn Tigers football team actually represented the institution then known as the Agricultural and Mechanical College of Alabama. Coached mainly by G. H. Harvey, the orange and blue finished their four-game season with two wins and two losses, being outscored by their opponents 98-42. The February 22, 1893 Iron Bowl, won by Auburn was considered by their opponents, the University of Alabama, to have been the final game of the 1892 season. Auburn considers it the first game of the 1893 season.
