This is a List of Birmingham homicides in 1908. It includes homicide cases occurring within the city limits during the calendar year. Note that not all homicides are ultimately ruled to be murder in courts of law.

Listing

  • February 16: J. H. Crawford, 28, a special officer working for the Southern Railway, was found dismembered on the Southern Railway tracks near 11th Avenue North and 27th Street. He was believed to have been killed by a shotgun blast and then placed on the tracks to conceal the manner of death. Ed Diamond was arrested near the scene. (report)
  • February 17: Edward Cole was found dead from gunshot wounds to the hand and hip in a stream embankment near 12th Avenue North, having apparently fled a deadly fight in a boxcar nearby, possibly between Crawford and a group of men in the boxcar. (report)
  • November 7: John Little, a Birmingham Police Officer, was killed in a shootout at a suspected shothouse at 813 3rd Avenue North. The suspected shooter and two others were killed in the same incident. (report)
  • November 7: J. W. "Willie" Harris, a shop owner and former saloon keeper was killed in the same incident.
  • November 7: A. Wilmer Womack, an employee of Harris', was killed in the same incident.
  • November 7: Lilliam Ruth Harris, 16-months, Willie Harris' daughter, was killed in the same incident.
