This is a List of Birmingham homicides in 1919. It includes homicide cases occurring within the city limits during the calendar year. Note that not all homicides are ultimately ruled to be murder in courts of law.
According to Kenneth Barnhart's survey of Jefferson County Board of Health statistics, Birmingham had 88 homicides in 1919, a rate of 49.6 per 100,000 population. Of those, 19 victims were white (17.6 per 100,000) and 69 were Black (99.0 per 100,000).
Listing
- An unnamed woman was killed by a former boyfriend after her engagement was announced. Tom Lambert was convicted of murder and sentenced to death, but that sentence was later commuted.
- November 28: G. T. Ary was robbed and killed by a reputed gang of axe murderers.
- December 24: John Belser was robbed and killed by a reputed gang of axe murderers.
