The Alabama Conference of the Wesleyan Methodist Church was the regional unit of the Wesleyan Methodist Church encompassing the Birmingham area prior to the 1968 merger of the Wesleyan Methodist Church with the Pilgrim Holiness Church to form the Wesleyan Church.
In 1954 Birmingham-area congregations included:
- East Lake Wesley Methodist Church, 8617 1st Court North
- First Wesleyan Methodist Church, 5123 1st Avenue North
- Springdale Wesleyan Methodist Church, 4739 Montevallo Road
In 1967, there were 15 organized churches in the conference with a total of 1,126 full members (i.e., youth and adults).
After the merger, Alabama congregations became part of the Wesleyan Church’s Mid-Gulf District.
Some congregations, however, objected to the new denomination's more centralized structure and joined the newly formed Bible Methodist Connection of Churches.
